At the Farmer's Market: Set of six 6" hand painted tiles, French Country tiles

Panel is formed by 6 tiles, with unique vegetables and fruit designs, including one strawberry plant, one blackberry, one broccoli, tomatoes, corn and turnip.

Blue and white French country / Portuguese Azulejo 6” tiles. Background glaze is off white.

Blank tiles with painted corners can be added to the panel. These blank tiles can be purchased in a different order.

Some imperfections may show due to being hand-painted and hand-glazed (bisque tiles made in Mexico) and kiln fired. These ceramic tiles are prepared for wall covering.

Our work preserves the tradition of hand painted tiles, brought in Europe by the Moors in the 14th century. It includes the way of preparing the glaze and the cobalt wash. Heat, or any abrasive cleaning applications do not affect the integrity of our tiles, that are meant to be conserved for centuries!
