Elephants and Flowers: set of nine 4.25" tiles, hand painted blue and white delft

Set is formed of nine 4 1/4" tiles. Hand painted blue and white delft style. Back ground glaze is off-white

These are unique hand painted tiles, composed of seven flowers and two festive elephants, framed in a diamond design.

Some imperfections may show due to being hand-painted and hand-glazed (bisque tiles made in Mexico) and kiln fired. These ceramic tiles are prepared for wall covering.

Our work preserves the tradition of hand painted tiles, brought in Europe by the Moors in the 14th century. It includes the way of preparing the glaze and the cobalt wash. Heat, or any abrasive cleaning applications do not affect the integrity of our tiles, that are meant to be conserved for centuries!

We will be happy to take special orders of any sizes! However, it might take more time to deliver, depending on the size of the order. This time can be stipulated upfront.
