Sail boat hand painted 6" tiles - Set of eight French Country tiles

Set of four 6" tiles. Hand painted blue cobalt on off-white glaze - Sailboat motif.

The set is composed of four different - and unique - sailboats. Blank tiles with coordinated hand painted corners pattern can be added under request. They are not part of the set, but are displayed to show a different pattern.

Imperfections may show due to being hand glazed and hand painted.

Our work preserves the tradition of hand painted tiles, brought in Europe by the Moors in the 14th century. It includes the way of preparing the glaze and the cobalt wash. Heat, or any abrasive cleaning applications do not affect the integrity of our tiles, that are meant to be conserved for centuries!
