Set of 9 - 4.25" French Country, hand painted tiles, backsplash: sail ships motif

Panel is formed by 9 tiles: blue and white French country / Delft 4-1/4” tiles. Background glaze is off white. Sail ships motif.

These are unique hand painted tiles. The set is formed by five tiles hand painted with sail ships, and four blank tiles with hand painted corners in coordination with the set. Additional blank tiles with the same corners detail can be purchased in a different order, and more sail ships can be included.

Some imperfections may show due to being hand-painted and hand-glazed (bisque tiles made in Mexico) and kiln fired. These ceramic tiles are prepared for wall covering.

Our work preserves the tradition of hand painted tiles, brought in Europe by the Moors in the 14th century. It includes the way of preparing the glaze and the cobalt wash. Heat, or any abrasive cleaning applications do not affect the integrity of our tiles. They are meant to be conserved for centuries!

We will be happy to take special orders of any sizes! However, it might take more time to deliver, depending on the size of the order. This time can be stipulated upfront.
