Set of nine 4.25" hand painted French Country tiles: vegetables motif

Panel is formed by 9 tiles: blue and white Azulejo/ French country / Delft 4-1/4” tiles. Background glaze is off white.

Tiles are painted with broccoli, eggplants, carrots, asparagus, garlic, tomatoes, turnips, corn, and artichoke.

Some imperfections may show due to being hand-painted and hand-glazed. These ceramic tiles are prepared for wall covering.

Our work preserves the tradition of hand painted tiles, brought in Europe by the Moors in the 14th century. It includes the way of preparing the glaze and the cobalt wash. Heat, or any abrasive cleaning applications do not affect the integrity of our tiles, that are meant to be conserved for centuries!
