Six Hand painted Delft style tiles for backsplash - 6" tiles - Sea creatures motif

Set of six - 6" hand painted tiles. Blue and white French country / Delft tiles. Background glaze is off white. Ocean/Coastal motif.

These are unique hand painted tiles. Tiles are composed of sea horse, turtle, starfish, shell, jellyfish and dolphin.

Blank tiles are not included in this set. They are shown as a possibility to be added under a special order.

Additional tiles in the same style can be purchased in a special order. However, it might take more time to deliver, depending on the size of the order. This time can be stipulated upfront.

Our work preserves the tradition of hand painted tiles, brought in Europe by the Moors in the 14th century. It includes the way of preparing the glaze and the cobalt wash. Heat, or any abrasive cleaning applications do not affect the integrity of our tiles, that are meant to be conserved for centuries!

Some imperfections may show due to being hand-painted and hand-glazed (bisque tiles made in Mexico) and kiln fired. These ceramic tiles are prepared for wall covering.
